Just as all students in the SeE program will have a common educational experience while fulfilling the Foundation Requirement, they also will have a common "capstone" experience regardless of which focus area they choose. The Capstone Requirement consists of two parts:


12.092 Seminar in Environmental Science (Fall)
Each fall a seminar will be led by one or two faculty associated with the Environmental Science major. The structure will be flexible but will involve in-depth review and discussion of a topic relevant to environmental science.

Senior Thesis
All students must produce a senior thesis in environmental science, with or without a policy component. Typically this thesis is the outcome of research projects undertaken through MIT's UROP program.
