  • Wm. Michael Mott currently lives in Starkville, Mississippi, where he works as a research assistant/computer artist/graphic designer for the NSF Engineering Research Center for Computational Field Simulation. He also works as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, and writes fiction and poetry. He has worked as an artist in one capacity or another since 1981. For three and one-half years he worked as an artist/illustrator for Intergraph Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama. His artwork has appeared in many publications, including Computer Graphics World Magazine, Computer Artist, IEEE Computer, IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, and Dragon Magazine (TSR, Inc.). He has created artwork and graphic design for book covers, posters, brochures, packaging, and digital/hypertext media. He loves Macintosh computers, uses UNIX-based systems, and is indifferent about PCs. He is married, and he and his wife Melissa have four children, three dogs, and a wide variety of assorted trolls, goblins, and other frozen monstrosities hanging around the house (primarily in the studio, if the truth is told). Currently, he's looking for a publisher for both a series of sci-fi/fantasy novels he has written, and several art-book concepts he has in development.
