Boris Starosta lives and works with his wife Janet in Charlottesville, VA. He has been working as a technical illustrator since 1988, when ink pens and stat machines were still the tools of the trade. He works full time illustrating science and engineering textbooks, preparing research graphics for the scientific community, and occasionally creating illustrations for the popular press.
The "pretty pictures" shown here are part of Boris' effort to attract clients in industry and advertising, who need photorealistic high tech images. Some "pretty pictures" have sold as book covers and trade show posters. He is actively looking for an agent or agency to represent him in the corporate market.
When he's not dreaming up Bryce images, Boris enjoys eating Janet's gourmet cooking, and listening to some of the wild meta-pop music that she finds in the local stores' new bins. He's also into bicycle road racing, shooting skeet, puttering about with his WWII jeep, raquetball, ham radio, astronomy, and spacey ambient electronic music.
