This site is a repository for pictures,
artifacts and discoveries from Bryce Texture Explorers. KPTBryce is a
3-D imaging application for generating realistic and surrealistic landscapes
on Macintosh computers. Most of Bryce's user interface is plush and easy;
however, time didn't permit MetaTools Inc. to cover everything in the
original manual. The tools for designing textures presume much more knowledge
than the Explorer's Guide contains (see pp. 146-149). That's where we
fit in. Pooling our knowledge, we can unlock the secrets of designing
textures.
For beginning explorers, it is
easy to discover beautiful vistas without designing your own textures.
Bryce comes with many textures built-in and allows you to use any picture
as a texture. Here are some examples of what
can be done without delving into the deepest recesses of Bryce.
We hope that this site continues
to be a general resource for KPT Bryce. As time progresses we'll be adding
new features, such as new tutorials. If you have Bryce images, textures,
tips, diatribes, or anything else that you want to contribute, please
do so. We have the space and the desire to make this site something special
for all Brycerians.
The above was written over a year
ago. Both the Guild and Bryce have come a long way since. We are pleased!
Countless people have told us that tutorials here have helped them understand
the Deep Texture Editor; that is, to learn how to use Bryce to create
their imaginative worlds. Others have told us that their image gallery
has led to work. Being asked to Bryce for money is a hard life indeed.
We want to thank all of you who
contributed tutorials and/or gallery images, for this site is what you
make it: the undisputed number one on-line Bryce resource. You've done
well! Now Bryce 2 is on the shelves and we are getting Bryce 2 images
nearly every day. We like that! Keep it up! |
